Brewers' Cup Chairwoman - Vanessa Shawver
The scoring of Brewers' Cup points is independent of any team scoring that a particular event may have. That is, the Brewers' Cup scoring software that we've developed simply looks for your name in the normal results, and awards Brewers' Cup points when it finds your name in the results. The software doesn't even look at any of the team results for a particular event.
MISSION: To increase participation in the Pikes Peak Road Runners (PPRR) organization while promoting local breweries and businesses through camaraderie, sportsmanship and competition.
Welcome to the 2018 Brewer's Cup - a beer/running competition in partnership with the Pikes Peak Road Runners (PPRR). Since brewery running teams are on the rise and have been present many years now, we have surmised that there is high correlation between good runners and good beer drinkers. In fact, it's fair to say that many of the fastest, funniest and most dedicated runners have been regular, enthusiastic patrons of our local breweries and rightly frequent the winner's podiums.
Extending this fun competition and encouraging loyal patronage of our local craft beer establishments, breweries in our local area are establishing teams of up to 15 runners and need only team shirts and a penchant for fun to join. The 2018 season begins on 1 Jan, so feel free to look around and post on our page if you are looking for a team to join!
Teams receive points for each runner participating in all PPRR races with a few extra points if your runner makes it to the podium. Scoring is maintained on the PPRR website. The 2018 Brewer's Cup will be presented at a special award ceremony where the winning team will receive a traveling trophy and $1 off ONE well-earned beer at each participating brewery for each runner on the winning team. Visit our web page at www.brewerscup.net if you'd like details regarding existing teams or details on how to start your own. We look forward to seeing your teams on the trail and may the best brewery win!

more information from RRCA on the policy Following guidelines from the Road Runners of Clubs of America (RRCA), Pikes Peak Road Runners discourages and in most cases, does not allow use of headphones in its races. The rationale for this is simple: the majority of our races are held on trails, which are crowded with many other runners (and sometimes other trail users). Maintaining one’s sensory capacity during such situations is paramount for the safety of all participants.
