        This course has hills, creeks, flats, and everything in between with 190 feet of elevation gain. The course is a large loop.

        This park is located off the corner of 21st Street and W. Rio Grande Road. From 21st street turn east on Rio Grande and take the first right onto Creek Crossing Street. The road makes an S curve at the end of which is a parking lot with a playground, sand volleyball court, and Pavilion 5. If no parking is available in this lot, continue on to the Community Gardens. Please leave at least five open spots at the Gardens for the gardeners

        All the trails used on this course are the wide, gravel trails. Ignore all single-track trails. The distances are to trail junctions of the main trails in the park.

        Start at Pavilion 5. The starting line is where the sidewalk ends and between the two posts.

1.     Run through the parking lot and along the road to where the trail crosses Creek Crossing Street-a gravel road miles. .06 miles

2.     Follow the trail across a small wooden foot bridge that crosses Bear Creek. Turn left at .20 miles, near the corner of the Community Garden.

3.     Run through the trees along the creek and enjoy the shade. Itís about the best youíll have. The trail bends to the right and goes up a little hill and at mile .45 it meets a main trial through the valley. Go left.

4.     At mile .53 the trail comes to a T junction. Take the left trail.

5.     At mile .70 a trail goes to the right. Go straight.

6.     At mile .88 a trail goes up the hill to the right/straight. Go left down to the road.

7.     At mile .90 the trail crosses a paved road. Go straight.

8.     At mile .98 the trail comes to a T junction. Go right.

9.     At mile 1.09 a trail goes to the right. Go straight up the hill.

10.At mile 1.40 the trail comes to a Y. Take the left fork up the hill and climb. Enjoy this climb, the hardest of the run. At the top of the hill, take a look of the view from Mikeís bench.

11.At mile 1.98 a trail goes downhill to the right. Go straight.

12.At mile 2.54 a trail goes to the left along the parking area for the Community Gardens. Go straight.

13.At mile 2.77 take the left-hand trail down the little hill and back along the creek.

14.At mile 3.0 you are back at the corner of the Community Garden where the trail is a T junction. Go right.

15.The finish line is the near edge of the bridge going over Bear Creek.
