The Mount Herman Rd location is off of Mitchell Rd about 2 mile south of Monument. When you reach Mount Herman Rd., head west toward the mountains until the pavement ends. There are turnouts to park. The road is a one to two lane wide dirt road. Watch for traffic as there is some. However once you travel up the road two or three miles you have escaped civilization.
