Drive to Woodland park and turn right on Rampart Range road by the McDonalds restaurant. Follow the signs to Rampart Reservoir (about 6.7 miles to Rainbow Gulch trailhead). The loop around the reservoir is approx 14.8 miles. Most of the loop is between 9200ft and 9300ft. Drive to the Rainbow Gulch trailhead. Driving to the dam will require you to pay an entrance fee.
