Pat Lockhart & Bill Bennett/Bill Gallegos Scholarships

The Pikes Peak Road Runners  have established 2 scholarships, one for a male college runner (Bill Bennett/Bill Gallegos Scholarship) and one for a female college runner (Pat Lockhart Scholarship). The criteria for the scholarships are the following:

• The athlete must currently be competing in college.
• The athlete must have a GPA above 3.0.
• The athlete must be involved in volunteer work in the community. The volunteer activity can either be in the Pikes Peak community or their school community.
• The athlete (or family of the athlete) must be a member of PPRR.
• The applicants for the scholarships must submit a resume and a 200 word essay on the merits of volunteering in the community. Resume and essay must be received either by mail or e-mail by March 31 to be considered.

The scholarships will be decided by the board at the April meeting and awarded at the May meeting. The scholarships are in the amount of $250. If there are no suitable applicants in any year, the scholarship will not be awarded. Please send your resume and essay to the following:
